It is with sadness that the committee of the Seahorse Dive Club in Swindon has to announce the loss of Mike Hamilton-Scott on 12th April 2023. Mike has been the heart and soul of the club for many years. An avid diver and founding member of the club, an ambassador to the sport, spearheading a number of initiatives and latterly Club Chairman. A truly special man who had such patience when teaching diving and always gave a warm and jovial welcome in the dive shop. He will be greatly missed by many of us. Our thoughts are with his daughter Samantha, son Simon and granddaughters Ella and Yasmin.
Those who knew Mike are invited to join his family as they celebrate his life. The farewell ceremony will be on Thursday 4th May at 11.00am at Westmill Woodland Burial Ground, Swindon, SN6 8TH. The wake which will be held afterwards at The Sun Inn, Coate, Swindon. Attendees are asked to please wear blue.
Please RSVP via the club’s Contact Page.
There will be a book in JC Scuba shop from mid-afternoon on Saturday 15th April. Please feel free to pop in and write some happy thoughts and memories. For anyone unable to get into the shop but would like something written in the book, please feel free to email over to me and I can print and put in the book for you.

Sad news, I dived with Mike many times in the early days as we where training, we did our rescue course together too, not to mention we had the privilege of carrying each other along the beach at Babacombe. R.I.P. buddy.

What a wonderful man, who gave up so much of his time for so many. He was the kindest, most patient teacher, and I feel so lucky to have benefited from his endless patience and good spirit in my own dive journey, as many others would have done too. Rest in peace Mike, you will be missed by so many
