The Seahorse Dive Club emerged during late 1996 and early 1997. Mark Horton was the owner of White Horse Diving (WHD), a dive training organisation and ran it alongside Bob Cozens who was an instructor and social secretary.
WHD always had a great retention of certified divers from training into its club. However, with the departure of Bob, leaving to work in Hurghada, a steering committee was set up to ascertain the needs of students and divers who had been trained via WHD and wanted to dive regularly with WHD.
Mark Horton, Mike Scott and Dave Hall are three founder members from that steering committee who still remain with the club today. The Seahorse Dive Club will celebrate its 25th year anniversary in 2021.
