It was a mixed bag of diving experiences this weekend as Seahorse Dive Club members experienced the gin clear blue waters of Greece, while others the murky inland waters of Andark Lake.
Zoe @ Andark Lake
We were meant to to be going to Lulworth Cove on Sunday, but it was called off due to poor conditions so we went to Andark Lake instead.
The visibility was the worst I’ve even seen, literally couldn’t even read my SPG at 6 metres deep!
However, I was trying out a new wing that I had borrowed for the first time. I’ve only used a stab-jacket type BCD before and I was a bit nervous about trying a wing, so Andark was an ideal site to give it a go. I’m so glad that I did! What a difference! It immediately improved my trim and found it much easier to dump the air from it. So the dive was definitely worthwhile.
I’m looking forward to my trip to Lundy island to dive with seals on bank holiday next weekend.
Piers @ Aeolian Sky

Diving Aeolian Sky last Sunday with Nick at Scimitar Diving was a good afternoons dive. Headed down the line there was a slight current which stopped when I got to the bottom. There was enough light to not really need a torch except to see into the dark holes in wreckage, derricks, funnel etc. I peeked into one out of curiosity to see two eyes and associated teeth moving around in front of me. Later on I was shown a big blue flecked eels tail sliding into a crevice as I turned around. A bit surprised and confused as the only three types of fish I know are “Big, Medium and Small”.
Apart from venting too much not often enough, as well as my bolt snap going up with the SMB it was a fun 61 minute dive. Buoyancy and trim feel so much better. The four minutes of deco at six metres, and the last few minutes at three metres felt like a VERY long time!
Thanks for a great dive Scimitar Diving with 41 mins bottom time. 61 min dive. 19/20 degrees celsius . 6-8m vis
Training @ Vobster

Lucie had an enjoyable skills session at Vobster with Mike, Paul, Bill, the two Nicks and Craig. Compass navigation seemed OK for Lucie, but it was the DSMB deployment that proved a nemesis for Lucie, no doubt an entertaining experience for buddies Mike and Bill!
Bill says he had two good dives helping Lucie with her navigation but had his own problems.
Adrian @ Crete

New member Adrian is off on the island of Crete to certify himself as an open water diver.
