CANCELLED. Not enough take up to make the trip viable.

Newquay Recreational Dive Weekend

Our new vessel “Desert Moon” was originally based In Norfolk and over the years took many divers out on our East coast exploring its many wrecks and reefs. We will be keeping her legacy going and can’t wait to get divers out on the vast number of well preserved wrecks and stunning reefs that are available on our North coast. Her dive lift provides a comfortable and safe entry and exit and we can provide air and mixed gas fills at our local workshop with plenty of easy parking. We can even provide a fast turnaround if you get caught out with an out of test cylinder.

QUALIFICATION

I am organising a Newquay weekend on the 22nd and 23rd July. This is a recreational weekend so all the dives will be around the 10-30m range.  Each diver will need to be qualified to a depth of 30metres and experienced in boat diving in UK waters. You must also carry and be able to deploy a delayed SMB.

MAXIMUM NUMBERS

I intend to charter the boat for two days; numbers are limited to 12 divers per day. If we don’t get 12 club members, the dive operator may fill the remaining spaces if possible.

DIVES AND ROPES OFF TIMES

Ropes off times will be available nearer the time. We will have two dives each day, one wreck followed by a reef or drift as the second dive.

CONSIDERATION
  • You will need two cylinders on this weekend as we may not be coming back to shore in between dives.
  • Air and nitrox available from the operator who will charge them overnight. An air fill will be £3 per cylinder, nitrox will be more.
  • Food (Pasties) and drinks will be available on the boat.
  • Toilet facilities are also on board.
  • Limited parking is available on the harbour, there is more parking 5 minutes from the harbour.
ODYSSEY MARINE ADVENTURES

The skipper has over 5 years’ experience of local RHIB diving and has recently bought a hard boat with a diver lift. The boat is due in the water at the end of May. He is well acquainted with the local sites and will discuss what we would like to do each day.

COSTS AND PAYMENTS

The cost £70 per day (£140 for weekend). I will need £50 to secure your booking with the final balance due by 21st May.

CANCELATION

In accordance with club rules, should you cancel your space for any reason, you are still liable to pay the full price unless you or the organiser can find a suitable diver to fill your place.

ACCOMMODATION

You will need to organise your own accommodation for this weekend.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The only responsibility of the organiser is to co-ordinate and facilitate a group booking of likeminded divers with a dive charter or similar operator. On your behalf he or she will collect monies from all divers and will pay the dive charter or operator on your behalf. Any diver joining a trip does not hold the organiser, or the seahorse dive club, responsible or liable for any issues or circumstances arising. All and every diver attending the trip must agree that they are fit to dive and will dive within their certified qualifications and depth levels. They certify this to their buddy or team and the dive charter or operator.
